Was this not one of the most inspiring videos ever? She put her singing career/dreams on hold to take care of her mother who passed away last year. The dress she is wearing is from a second-hand store. She is unemployed. I hope great things are in store for her. kays

The pure joy of singing that enhanced Ms. Boyle's face was a beautiful thing to see imho. As far as album covers has your friend not heard of makeup artists and airbrushing. I can't help but think the powers that be will have a hand in the transformation in order to appeal to as many as possible. Isn't it amazing how people can continue to amaze us by their small mindedness? I'm always reminded of 'people who live in glass houses..." The most common and easiest to treat birth defect is the cleft pallet. You don't, however see begathons asking for money to treat cleft pallet. It's kind of hard to showcase a baby who is considered 'not cute' in our plastic world. kays
